Pouliot was wildly inconsistent and I think PC made the right move. Hopefully Knight can show his worth in camp and earn a spot on the roster. I would still like to see them get one of 2nd tier forwards like Hudler, Whitney, Doan as anyone like Parise is too expensive.

Would you entertain a trade of Krejci and Lucic for Bobby Ryan?

Very good sign that he's attending D-camp. He's always said he wanted to play for Spartak and now that his dad is there it makes sense for him to do it now. Hopefully it's just a 1 year thing, the B's can sign him next off-season and loan him out if he's not ready to crack the B's NHL roster. Probably won't see him play in the A, but this isn't the worst thing in the world. Providing he plays for the B's at some point in the future, it's actually likely beneficial for his development.

With a crap team infront of Pav ofcourse his numbers arent going to be great, alot of games the players infront of him stood around and did nothing to help him. They guy did hand stands for the Jets. You can use the numbers to say hes not worth it he brings more the the team then what his numbers show. Also a huge fan favorite here, the deal was fair for him and the club.

Ty I have to disagree with you on your rating Rask better than Pavelec. I would take Pavelec in a heartbeat over Rask. Rask to me is still unproven as one year wonders do not do it for me. Pavelec has played on some terrible hockey teams and he holds them together. Rask plays on a solid defensive team and is less exposed.

Totally agree Pav is worth more than Rasko.

Thank god Pouliot is gone, man I can not stand that guy! Ever since he got arrested a couple years ago I have disliked him. He comeback to the cops were do you know who I am??? Who does he think he is?? Bad attitude and not likeable despite having everything going for him except between the ears

Watch a few Jets games this year and watch him. They should have let him go to the KHL.

Twice as good as any goalie your Sens have! He is a younger version of T. Vokoun.

If you call Anderson the knife wielding bandit a legite #1 you my friend are dillusional.

? Pavelec was awesome for the Jets last year.

I see his contract as a good comp for Tuukka. Not sure how far Rask is out from UFA but Pavelec's new deal eats up a good chunk of UFA time which is a big factor too. $3.5 to $4M for 4-5 years for Rask seems appropriate, hopefully on the lower end.

I say Rask gets 3 years max @ $4 mil each. I'm sure his agent would advise him to not take on too many years so he can get to be an UFA while still in his 20's and have 3 straight years as a starter.

I wouldnt swap both Krejci and Lucic for Ryan, that is too much to give up for Ryan. We would be losing 2 top 6 players and only acquiring one. I think they would do Krejci+ or Lucic+.
Krejci+ wont get the deal done because Ana does not need a center at this point they need wingers to replace Hagman, Blake and Ryan. To make Krejci more appealing you would need to add a strong group of prospects. And if I were PC I dont think Im moving Lucic because Ryan may be a better pure scorer, he lacks the physicality and toughness Lucic brings to the table. Realistically PC is going to look for a 3rd line winger who can slide up and down the roster most likely a Lee Stempniak/Mikael Samuelsson type player.

I love Bobby Ryan, but it is tough for me to gauge how good he really is because of Perry and Getzlaf. If were to make a fantasy trade hypothetically, I would dump Thomas for anything and then.....trade Krejci+Marchand+prospects/picks for Nash. Move Seguin to center with Nash and Horton. Lucic plays with Bergeron to cover up his terrible defensive play. Sign an aging veteran RW on a one year deal, maybe try to overpay Jagr for just one season. This would never happen, but it is what I would give up for one of these big names.

It's silly to compare Pavelec to Rask & say that Rask is so much better. Rask definitely has more talent playing in front of him than Pavs.

Bobby Ryan is the real deal. He reminds me of a young Keith Tkachuk, but with more speed and a significantly better wrist shot. If the Blues had a need for a top six scorer, he would be at the top of my list, even ahead of Nash. Krejci/Marchand/prospects/picks would only land Nash if you're talking a serious blue chip prospect (who do the B's have in Providence or rights to?) & at least a 1st & a 2nd. Nash is going to fetch a king's ransom and unless you're talking Lucic/Bergeron/Chara/insert-player-you'd-puke-to-give-up here, it won't happen. I stay away from the BJs if I'm Boston.

Pavelec has room to grow, don't get me wrong, but right now I think he's an average (at best) goaltender. You can put the blame on his defense, but I thought he stunk even when he was in the Ramsay system, which is by all means the same as the Boston one.

Nah, that's two thirds of your top-line. They don't need to re-tool their squad that badly. There's this weird sort of demand for major change when this team was an overtime goal away from facing Philly, and then (potentially) facing Jersey, two teams they dominated throughout the season. I'm OK with them trying to add one top-six forward this offseason. Doan, Whitney, etc etc.

And because I'm from Ottawa I'm a Sens fan? That's taking the "i know you are but what am I" school of debating to a completely different level.

And, a little bit of advice, don't throw rocks from your glass house.
